I was there only one evening, but I made my best effort to explore all of the restaurant and bar outlets as I could within the short amount of period of time.
Harta
Available for lunch, breakfast and dinner, Harta (located on the ground floor when you enter the hotel) is the primary dining choice in the Grayson Hotel. The menu for dinner is extensive you’ll find Mediterranean dishes like homemade focaccia ($3) and Hummus ($14) burrata ($20) and traveler photos falafel ($17) which are all we tried on the suggestion of our server, and I’m able to recommend.
This is the type of place to get together with your friends to eat before you head out, or in our case before ascending to the 28th level for Bar Cima The rooftop mezcal and tequila bar.
However, before taking an elevator, and then heading to for a drink, be aware that there’s a tiny bar inside Harta. Additionally, the Breakfast menu in Harta is not as much focused on the Mediterranean aspect and is more focused on American classics like pancakes ($16) Avocado toast ($17) Breakfast sandwiches ($17), and eggs and steak ($32).
I ordered a breakfast omelet ($19) as that is shown below. While it was delicious (and very gratifying to have it included in the membership in the Hyatt Globalist program) I actually enjoyed the meal snacks more than breakfast.
Bar Cima
The rooftop mezcal and tequila lounge has a chic style that should not be missed. Empire State Building views combined with brass, walnut and jewel-tone accents create the stage for a truly getaway from the bustle and hustle of the city. It’s a location for relaxing and jolly gatherings.
The drinks on the menu generally are priced between $16 and $18 and focus on traditional Mexican ingredients, home-made bitters as well as fresh juices and creative mixes of flavors.
We loved our Tamarindo Daisy with tamarind-infused Derrumbes San Luis Potosi Apricot and roasted habanero, serrano chilies.
In addition to the menu is a selection of variations of an Old-Fashioned, an intriguing drink named Rice and Dreams with rice milk, lime La Higuera Sotol as well as allspice, as well as several other intriguing cocktails? There’s no full-service menu of food items but you can find chips and guacamole with your drink.
There is an additional bar serving margaritas into the back alley of the Grayson however, there were only a couple of hours and cocktails available in one night and I’ll need to go back the next time.
The price is fair
It’s not the best time to visit Jamaica. It’s not a good idea to overuse the Goldilocks comparison however, it’s actually true as this hotel is situated right in the middle of the road. In certain situations it’s this Park Hyatt New York or Thompson Central Park can be expensive, whereas you may want an experience that is more complete than you’ll find in budget-friendly brands. As a Hyatt Category 5 hotel The Grayson’s rates for awards range between 17,000 to 23,000 points for a night. Rates for cash start as low as $200, which means that Grayson’s rates are typically adequate for what you will get right in the middle of the city.
You can get a complimentary stay at the hotel by using your World of Hyatt Credit Card by receiving as much as 30,000 points when you make purchases of $3,000 during the first 3 months. You can earn up to 30000 bonus points after receiving 2 bonus points per dollar spent during the beginning six months for up to $15,000 in purchases.
